2021 Bass Lake Fishing Derby

Camping near Bass Lake, California this spring? All of Madera County is buzzing with excitement over the upcoming Bass Lake Fishing Derby scheduled for May 2021. After last year’s event was canceled due to the pandemic, participants and spectators are eager to hit the water in pursuit of over $59,000 in prizes. Prior to the event, members of the Bass Lake Chamber of Commerce will release 1,000 tagged rainbow trout worth varying amounts.

150 Fish Worth $100
847 Fish Worth $20

Entrants must be over the age of 16 with a valid California Fishing License. To qualify for the prize money, the fish must be caught alive using a standard hook and fishing line. Visit California.Gov for more information on California fishing regulations.
